DISNEYLAND REOPENING APRIL 30TH 2021

CNBC REPORTS VIA BOB CHAPEK DISNEYLAND WILL REOPEN APRIL 30TH,2021

When: Disney’s two California theme parks will reopen on April 30.

What: The parks will operate at around 15% capacity to start.

Bob Chapek says : “Consumers trust Disney to do the right thing and we’ve certainly proven that we can [open] responsibly whether it’s temperature checks, masks, social distancing, [or] improved hygiene around the parks.”

Walt Disney World reopened in July 2020 and has been able to remain open with limited capacities and safety procedures in tact. Visitors will be required to use the theme park reservation system the same way WDW guests have had to use for the past year.

For now, according to Disney Parks Blog (the number one source for the latest Disney news) “Theme park reservations will be limited and subject to availability and, until further notice, only California residents may visit the parks in line with current state guidelines. More details about this new reservation system will be available soon.”

The Disneyland Resort hotels will be reopening in phases as well. Disney’s Grand Californian reopens April 29th with limited capacity. DVC villas at the Grand Californian will reopen on May 2nd. There is currently no announcement on the Disneyland Hotel or Paradise Pier reopening date.

This reopening means 10,000 Disneyland employees will be recalled to work, as the company previously announced. “The day all of us have long been waiting for is almost here,” said Ken Potrock, president of the Disneyland Resort, in a statement. Thinking of all the CM’s and hoping so many hear back about going to back to work!

California’s new state guidance permits amusement parks to reopen beginning April 1 with 15% to 35% capacity all depending on the virus. Just like Disney World, masks and other health precautions will be required. Chapek said the two parks will operate at around 15% capacity to start.

I had started going to Disneyland in 2017 and regularly almost every other month in 2018 since I lived a short flight away while in WA state. I met so many amazing CA friends and it has been wild not seeing them for a year! The first thing I want to do when Disneyland announces more than just CA residents can visit is safely see ALL my friends!
