Hey lovelies!

I have been without my laptop for about 2 weeks and have been itching to write! I went on a spontaneous trip to Michigan to visit my family. Okay, fine, the truth is I went for the food. Sure, I could cook it myself because I know the family recipes like the back of my hand (ahem...that is with a phone call to my mom every minute I'm cooking haha). If you've ever had real Lebanese food you understand. Anyhow! I had a blast and that is a post for another time!

What I'd love to discuss with you today is this new thing I gave a try. Microblading. I've been seeing it all over the internet and then an acquaintance of mine got hers done and it wowed me. Apparently they've been doing it in Europe for years! Anyhow, it's not permanent tattooing because it fades in 1-3 years and the esthetician doesn't use a needle nor does it go past the upper layer of your dermis. The micro-blade is like an exacto knife but with a series of micro-needles that allow a fine micro-stroke to implement the color to the upper layer of the dermis. That's that!

The reason I wanted to do this is because I wanted something that would last for a while but wasn't permanent since our skin changes over time. Back in high school I plucked away one of my arches a little and it never really grew back. I honestly don't even have to fill them in but I wanted a fuller brow and something that didn't always looked filled in. What you do is first go for a consultation to talk about the procedure and have the esthetician draw in your brows the way she is going to fill them in and make sure this is what you want to do. You can't workout a couple days after nor the day before. That was really hard to do because it threw my routine off. Then you go to your appointment, take a couple Tylenol because it will sting a little, and then the fun begins! It started with the cuts and then she added the color. Honestly it didn't really hurt all that much. That's about all there is to say! The procedure from start to finish took about 2 hours. Here's a photo from before without any makeup:

Let me walk you through my emotional stages afterwards: Stage 1: I came home and felt like someone just took a sharpie to my face. Kept asking myself why? Why did I do this??? Why am I going out to the store tonight like this?! I must hide from people!

Stage 2: Learn how to give yourself fake bangs and end up looking like Tinker Bell and I'm okay now.

Stage 3: The color starts to fade to its correct pigmentation a couple days later. OMG I LOVE MY BROWS!!! Stage 4: I love LOVE my brows and wake up every morning amazed that I now have what could have been if I didn't mess with them when I was a teenager.

Stage 5: Get ready for my touch up!

Touch up was great! Painless! Easy! Big shout-out to my eyebrow expert Ashley!

That's all there is to it! If you have any questions please leave a comment :)
