Starting TODAY select guests are able to make Disneyland Park Pass Reservations!
Disneyland is reopening April 30th! Guests with existing tickets prior to the park closure in March 2020 are able to make park reservations. No ticket? No problem! New tickets will be available for purchase on April 15th (no earlier than 8AM PST)!
Below you’ll find a step-by-step guide on what to expect when making your reservation and how to make one!
TLDR JUMP:
Purchasing New Tickets READ HERE FOR TIPS AND TRICKS (starting April 15th, 2021)
Using the Park Pass System
So HOW does the Park Pass System work? Let’s take a look!
Head to https://disneyland.disney.go.com/entry-reservation/ to log in and join the virtual queue!
Your tickets should be linked to your account already!
Once you get through the queue you’ll be prompted to create your party (max booking is 10 tickets at a time and only THREE households). Guests must be California residents.
Select your desired date to make a reservation (only one date can be booked at a time. That means multi-day trips will have to go through this process for each day.)
Next, pick which park you want to visit. Park hopping is available as of now after 1PM (this applies to valid Park Hopper tickets ONLY) as long as the park hasn’t reached capacity.
Disney will send you an email with a QR code for your reservations. CALIFORNIA RESEIDENT WILL HAVE TO CONFIRM RESIDENCY.
That’s it! You’re going to Disney!
All reservations can be viewed via the Disneyland App.
This process was super easy to do! I was able to book a park pass within 12 minutes!
*I am not a California resident so I of course had to cancel the reservation since I was just doing this to understand the process.
Park Reservations Visual
A visual step-by-step for my visual lovebugs below!
I can’t wait until I can purchase a ticket one day and snack my way around the parks again!
Chat with a Cast Member
The reservation system is pretty straight forward and user-friendly so you should be able to book a park reservation with no problem! BUT if you do find yourself lost or needing help there’s a GREAT new feature on the Disneyland/Disneyworld App in two easy steps:
Simply open up your My Disney Experience app in either Disneyland or Disney world and from the menu bar scroll down until you see the “chat with us” box and then select it. From there you will be given a chat box where a cast member can help you right away! They can EVEN SCHEDULE A CALL BACK FOR YOU! Amazing right?! Instead of staying on the phone for HOURS (which trust me I HAVE DONE) you can get a call back just by using this chat box!
Purchasing New Tickets
Okay, now back to those upcoming tickets available for purchase on April 15th, 2021, here’s what you need to know!
WHEN SHOULD I GET IN LINE/ THE QUEUE?
BE SURE TO GET ON THE DISNEYLAND WEBSITE (I will update this link once Disneyland updates it but for now this is the main ticket page) AT 7 AM TO REFRESH THE PAGE AND GET READY FOR TICKET DROP WHICH WILL BE PROMPTLY AT 8 AM PST PER DISNEYLAND’S WORDS!
THE RESERVATION QUEUE AND THE TICKET QUEUE ARE TWO DIFFERENT LINES! YOU HAVE TO PURCHASE TICKETS BEFORE GETTING A PARK RESERVATION.
PRO TIP: Have another device waiting in line/ in the virtual queue for the reservation system that way you are already in the room and HOPEFULLY once you’ve purchased your tickets you can be ready to go in the reservation room!
WHAT TICKET DO I BUY?!
TWO-DAY SINGLE-PARK MULTI DAY PASS! WHY? BECAUSE THIS TICKET DOES NOT FALL INTO THE TIER CATEGORY AND DON’T WASTE TIME PURCHASING A PARK HOPPER TICKET BECAUSE PARK HOPPING IS NOT GUARANTEED!
IMPORTANT: You HAVE to purchase a ticket prior to booking a park pass.
PRO TIP: If you’re a California local and are looking to maximize your Disney trip, buying a multi-day is not the best route if you’re not wanting to go to the parks immediately within 13 days of purchase since multi-day tickets HAVE to be used within 13 days.
Disneyland breaks it down REALLY easily for us! Take a look at each slide to see which ticket will work best for you! I DO advise that you should have a backup plan for alternate tickets in case the ticket you want isn’t available for the day you’d like to go.
How do you know if there is no availability for that ticket or if it’s blocked out for the day you want to go? GLAD YOU ASKED! Be sure to bookmark the this link which will let you know the calendar availability for each ticket tier!
PRO TIP: THESE tickets get you into opening day APRIL 30th: 1-Day Tier 5 Ticket with Admission to 1 Park Per Day, 2-Day Ticket with Admission to 1 Park Per Day, 3-Day Ticket with Admission to 1 Park Per Day, 4-Day Ticket with Admission to 1 Park Per Day, 5-Day Ticket with Admission to 1 Park Per Day, 1-Day Tier 5 Park Hopper Ticket, 2-Day Park Hopper Ticket, 3-Day Park Hopper Ticket, 4-Day Park Hopper Ticket, 5-Day Park Hopper Ticket.
